DAY 8 · DINNER
Paneer & Millet (Ragi/Bajra) Smash
Paneer with millet (ragi/bajra) and gentle vegetables — a hearty dinner.
Dinner· 31 min total· 5 ingredients
Ingredients
- 90 g fresh unsalted low-fat paneer
- 70 g ragi or bajra millet
- 60 g mixed carrot, spinach and green peas
- paneer crumble
- Fresh water for cooking
Portion & storage
These amounts make roughly one day of food for a ~10 kg adult dog, split across the day. As a rough guide feed 2–3% of body weight daily: a 3 kg dog ≈ 60–90 g, a 20 kg dog ≈ 300–450 g, a 30 kg dog ≈ 450–650 g. Puppies, working, pregnant or underweight dogs need more; seniors and low-activity dogs need less. Introduce any new recipe over 5–7 days, mixed into the current food. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight box and use within 2 days; serve at room temperature.
Method
- 1
Cook 70 g ragi or bajra millet in 220 ml water for 20 minutes to a soft mash.
- 2
Crumble the paneer into small pieces (no need to cook).
- 3
Steam 60 g total of chopped carrot and green peas for 6–9 minutes until just tender. Wilt a small handful of chopped spinach in the last minute.
- 4
Let everything cool to room temperature, then fold the paneer, millet (ragi/bajra) and vegetables together.
- 5
Crumble 1 tbsp paneer or cottage cheese over the top.
- 6
Serve at room temperature. Store any extra in the fridge and use within 2 days.

These are recipe ideas, not a complete daily diet plan. Every dog has different nutritional needs based on age, size, weight, breed and overall health. Use these to add variety and inspiration — introduce anything new slowly over 5–7 days, and talk to your veterinarian before making major changes, especially for puppies, seniors, pregnant dogs, or dogs with allergies or medical conditions. Never feed onion, garlic, chives, leek, grapes, raisins, chocolate, caffeine, xylitol, macadamia nuts, or cooked bones.
