DINNER
Lean Beef Mince & Potato Hash
Lean Beef Mince with potato and gentle vegetables — a hearty dinner.
Dinner· 34 min total· 5 ingredients
Ingredients
- 110 g lean beef mince
- 140 g potato
- 60 g mixed carrot and green peas
- bone broth
- Fresh water for cooking
Portion & storage
These amounts make roughly one day of food for a ~10 kg adult dog, split across the day. As a rough guide feed 2–3% of body weight daily: a 3 kg dog ≈ 60–90 g, a 20 kg dog ≈ 300–450 g, a 30 kg dog ≈ 450–650 g. Puppies, working, pregnant or underweight dogs need more; seniors and low-activity dogs need less. Introduce any new recipe over 5–7 days, mixed into the current food. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight box and use within 2 days; serve at room temperature.
Method
- 1
Boil 140 g peeled potato until soft and mash with a splash of the cooking water. Always cooked, never raw or green.
- 2
Brown the beef mince in a dry non-stick pan for 8–10 minutes, then tip off any melted fat.
- 3
Steam 60 g total of chopped carrot and green peas for 6–9 minutes until just tender.
- 4
Let everything cool to room temperature, then fold the lean beef mince, potato and vegetables together.
- 5
Moisten with 2 tbsp unsalted bone or vegetable broth.
- 6
Serve at room temperature. Store any extra in the fridge and use within 2 days.

These are recipe ideas, not a complete daily diet plan. Every dog has different nutritional needs based on age, size, weight, breed and overall health. Use these to add variety and inspiration — introduce anything new slowly over 5–7 days, and talk to your veterinarian before making major changes, especially for puppies, seniors, pregnant dogs, or dogs with allergies or medical conditions. Never feed onion, garlic, chives, leek, grapes, raisins, chocolate, caffeine, xylitol, macadamia nuts, or cooked bones.
